Varsity Head Coach

Tyler Roberts

Coach Roberts has over two decades of basketball coaching experience. He began coaching at Bishop Kearney as a Freshman coach. Coach Roberts then spent three years here at Victor as the Freshman Coach and Varsity Assistant. He transitioned to Varsity Coach at Geneva for a year, and then he spent three years as the Varsity Coach of Midlakes, with another five years at Rochester Institute of Technology as an Assistant Coach.

Coach Roberts then returned to Victor as the Varsity Head Coach. Subsequently leading Victor to five Monroe County league titles, two Section V titles and one New York State title. Coach Roberts strives to teach our players to do their best, be attentive, and to put the team first. The goal is to improve by 1% each day.

Varsity Assistant Coach

Graig Roberts

Coach Roberts, referred to as G-Rob by his players, worked as the Assistant Varsity Coach at Avon for 9 years. Coach Roberts then joined our Victor program as Junior Varsity Coach for two years. Coach Roberts has spent the last six years serving as the Assistant Varsity Coach.

Varsity Assistant Coach

Connor Williams

We would like to welcome Coach Williams back to Victor. This will be Coach Williams first year as an Assistant Coach here but not his first time on the Victor court. Coach Williams played for Coach Roberts during his four years at Victor Central. He then went on to play for St. John Fisher University during his fours years of undergrad. Coach Williams has been coaching through various camps for 5 years.

Junior Varsity Coach

Randy Johnson

Coach Johnson has a plethora of experience in youth and program basketball coaching. He spent five years with Victor Parks and Recreation, exclusively with the basketball programs: Saturday Morning Basketball, Skills and Drills, Saturday Night High school Rec League. He also spent two years as the Basketball Coordinator at Pinnacle Sports Facility. He dedicated five years to Victor Travel Basketball Program as an Assistant Coach. At the program level Coach Johnson spent three years at Bloomfield Central as the Boys Varsity Head Coach. Here at Victor Coach Johnson has served as the Boys Basketball Program Assistant for two years, and he was the Head Coach of the Modified A team for another two years. And we are thrilled to have Coach Johnson return for the 2025/26 season as the Victor Boys JV Head Coach.

Junior Varsity Assistant Coach

Ryan Shannon

Coach Shannon has 10 years of coaching experience in the Victor Travel Basketball and AAU programs. He joined the Victor Basketball Program last year as the Modified A assistant. He will be returning for the 2025/26 season as the assistant for the JV team.

Modified A Coach

Ben Raymo

Coach Raymo will be stepping into the Modified A Coach position this 2025/26 season. He has spent the last two years as the Victor Modified Assistant Coach. Simultaneously devoting the last three years to Victor Travel Basketball as a Head Coach. Coach Raymo comes to the Victor Program with 18 years of coaching experience. He spent 10 years at Waterloo HS: one year as Modified Boys Head Coach, three years as JV Boys Head Coach, three years as Varsity Boys Head Coach, and an additional three years as JV Girls Head Coach. Before that Coach Raymo was an Assistant Basketball Coach at Newark for five years.

Modified B Coach

Tim Clapp

The Victor basketball program has been fortunate to have Coach Clapp for 20 years. He has coached both the Modified A and B teams. Coach Clapp has coached within the Victor school program for the entirety of his career.

Modified B Coach

Blake Smith

Coach Smith has served in many roles within the Victor Basketball program as whole. He was the Boys Program Assistant for a season, before moving into the role of Girls Varsity Head Basketball Coach for nine seasons. After taking a season off in 2020, Coach Smith returned to the court as the Assistant Boys JV Coach. From 2022-2025, he was the Girls Varsity basketball Assistant Coach. The 2025/26 season will be his first as the Modified B Coach.

Before coaching at Victor, Coach Smith was an Assistant Basketball Coach at Pittsford Mendon for one year and a JV Coach at Marcus Whitman for one season.

Modified B Assistant Coach

Phil DeSaw

Coach DeSaw brings decades of experience to our players. Coach DeSaw has served as an assistant coach for the Modified A & B teams for the last four years. Prior to that he was the Victor JV Assistant Coach for two years. Coach DeSaw came to Victor from the Syracuse area where he was at Onondaga for 12 years: three years as JV Coach, five years as Varsity Coach, four years Varsity Assistant Coach. He has also coached for Lafayette for six years: three years as JV Coach and three years Varsity Assistant Coach.

Program Assistant

Dave Vistocco

Coach Vistocco has a wealth of coaching experience. He spent one year at HFL as the Varsity Assistant Coach. And one year as the Modified Coach at Geneva City Schools. But we at Victor have been lucky to have Coach Vistocco for 10 years. He has held a variety of coaching positions: he was the Modified A Coach for one year, the Varsity Assistant Coach for three years, the Junior Varsity Head Coach for five years and has transitioned to the Program Assistant for the past year.
